<i>Radix puerariae</i> in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy: A network pharmacology analysis and experimental validation

Abstract Radix puerariae has become the most commonly used medicine for diabetic nephropathy (DN). However, mechanism of in treatment DN is not completely clear. This study to determine active ingredients, targets, and signaling pathways using network pharmacology analysis animal experiments confirm its possible action. A total 12 potential effective components 10 key therapeutic targets were obtained. The Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes enrichment indicated that use mainly involves HIF-1 pathway, TNF mTOR PI3K-Akt FoxO signaling, VEGF pathway. Molecular docking proved combined activity with excellent. Animal showed could improve renal pathological structure rats. decrease content AKT1, IL-6, INS, reduce expression levels p-Akt/Akt p-FoxO1/FoxO1 tissue provides insight into molecular mechanisms treating DN.
